Cristina Lucas (1973) is a Spanish artist who uses all of the media within reach to enrich her work (including performance art, happenings, video, photography, installations, sculpture, drawing and painting) as a way to cast doubt on many of the aspects which make up and define doday’s society, pointing out its troubles and contradictions while taking nothing for granted. She has taken part in the Biennials of Sao Paulo, Mercosul, Liverpool, Havana and Istanbul, and her exhibitions have been on display at the most important art centres. Her work is present in the collections at some of Spain’s most important contemporary art museums, including MUSAC, IVAM, CA2M and ARTIUM, as well as significant European centres like the Centre Pompidou, KIASMA and Mudam Luxembourg. This book will accompany her most recent exhibitions shown at Mudam Luxembourg, the OK Contemporary Art Centre in Linz and Sala Alcalá 31 of the Regional Government of Madrid.
With texts by Cristina Lucas, Gerardo Mosquera, Katerina Gregos, Estrella de Diego, Chantal Pontibriand, Inti Guerrero, Jimena Blázquez, Segio Rubira.
